Formerly the band Duvet

Nick Wright, BMO, James Woulfe, John Barnard

Bo-Lingo is a refreshingly simple, classic Rock four piece with a selection of original songs of an eclectic style. On occasion fusing Funk with Rock and Indie with soul, but all with a consistent sound and feel to them. Bo Lingo performs with passion and a hell of a lot of dancing. Not just your run of the mill indie stuff here. This is Showbusiness…….

Background

Bo-Lingo was formed just over a year ago when singer Nick Wright was introduced to guitar virtuoso, John Barnard, at the Paradise Bar, Greenwich, while attending a gig by local band "Unconscious Collective." After finding they had the same rock roots in common, Nick and John formed the band "Duvet". Rhythm section Bmo and James came through Nick and the line up was complete by August of last year.

Their first gig was to 150 people at Brunel University, Middlesex which was followed up by gigs at the Amersham, New Cross, Rifleman, Hounslow and The Bull Theatre, High Barnet (RE: 1st song on the demo). Bo Lingo have continued to build a steady following and word of mouth of their energetic and vibrant live performances is boasting these crowds ever more.

"It's too easy for a band these days to assume that just standing playing their songs on stage is good enough, it's not. I'm dancing all over the place and it infects the audience to dance to…. It's great!"
Nick Wright on why Bo Lingo's live performances are a little bit special.

Having recently attended the Bass Players wedding in Torquay, a new name was conceived for the band. Bo-Lingo, inspired by a hybrid of ten pin bowling that Nick and Bmo became addicted to while out on James' Stag Night.

'The Sheriff of Rock County' is the alter ego of John Barnard, named so because of his mastery of rock guitar licks. And if you ask him nicely, he may play you Tchaikovski's NutCracker Suite on his Spanish guitar.

Duvet Reviews

> This band's song "Amazing" really grows on you! I love it ! You seem to hear more and more new things in it every time you listen to it. Great backing overlapping vocals with a big guitar rhythm sound like Radiohead. The band's strongest influence are The Stone Roses and I think you will agree once you hear them. I also love the guitar licks that are set back in the track. Nice sound guys, very promising and moving song. My opinion is that it is too Stone Roses like, but still a great moving song. Another top 10 song in my eyes. Rating: 4/5. Review by Matt, Hits Are Here

> Yeah, this is alright. There is definitely something happening here with these people. A bit of a foot tapper at the beginning which works itself into a full blown floor stomper with a mature rounded finish. Rating: 4/5. Review by Colin Gould, solo artist, from Northern Ireland

> 'Amazing' is a demotrack you can find on the site of the London-based band Duvet. This is a band that leaves room for harmony and subtlety in their groovy and thriving songs. After a few setbacks the foursome is now ready again to get their music across. Rating: 4.5/5. Review by An Verbeeck, guitarist and vocalist from Skirmish
