PERFORMING AT MUSIKFEST, BETHLEHEM, PA
The Bethlehem Musikfest Association receives thousands of applications
annually from performers around the country who are interested in
appearing at Musikfest. And, each year, many new performers are chosen
to play at the festival.
If you or your group are interested in applying to be a performer, our
application procedure is simple: We begin accepting applications for the
following year's festival on Nov. 1 (Nov. 1, 2000 for Musikfest 2001).
The last day to submit materials, without exception, is March 1 (March
1, 2001 for Musikfest 2001). Performer materials received after this
date will not be considered for that year's event. However, they will be
kept on file for future consideration.
If you already applied in a previous year, you do not need to re-apply
again. However, you may want to submit new materials if you or your band
has a new release, the band's members have changed or you have updated
information that may be vital in the selection process.
Interested performers should send a CD, cassette or video and a press
kit to:
Kathy Krautter
Director of Performing Arts
Bethlehem Musikfest Association
25. W Third St., Suite 300
Bethlehem, PA 18015
Approximately one month after your press kit arrives at our office, you
will receive a postcard in the mail confirming it was received. If you
do not hear from us within four weeks, chances are good we did not
receive your application package.
If you need to contact us, please keep in mind our director of
performing arts is not able to return all telephone calls due to the
large volume of performer applications she receives. If you are
concerned about your application package, or have questions about
updating the materials submitted in a previous year, the best way to
reach us is by e-mail at perform@fest.org

GWYN ASHTON IN 2000
This year has been great for us. We've been to France, Germany, Holland, Wales and ALL around England about a zillion times!
2000 saw a new CD released through Virgin (France) and BMG (Europe) called "Fang It!". I was proud to have recorded this CD with Gerry McAvoy and Brendan O'Neill (both ex - Rory Gallagher and now with Nine Below Zero). The CD was recorded in London and produced by Dennis Greaves.
I've been doing a lot of guitar magazine tutorials and editorials in the UK and France this year. It's been a very creative period in my life.
Thanks for the support you showed us this year. We're taking some time off in England for a while, concentrating on touring Europe more and trying to break down the ol' "songwriter's block!"
I'll be in LA for NAMM next month doing some twangin' on the Godlyke booth, then over to Houston, Texas fer a coupla weeks. Hope ya'll miss me!
Season's Greetings to everyone and please don't stop the fine support you've all shown us in 2000 There's plenty more to come in 2001!
