Another G.I.M.P Showcase in Peterborough
|
Friday 23rd February, The Park which has turned into the cities most popular
live music venue plays host to the 2nd G.I.M.P showcase night due to the
high success of it’s predecessor.
The second G.I.M.P showcase night will yet again be contributing a
collection of young talented artists to its bill.
To kick the night into submission will be them young Punk rockers TIC who
just love a good pudding. Next to take to the stage we’ll see local punk-ska
band $UP who recently supported Capdown at the Club With No Name filling The
Park (Level 2) to the brim.
Back on popular demand are Peterborough’s very ’77 esque Punk Rockers
Inbreed, who are back bigger and better than ever before with an extended
set and new guitarist Richard Rodriguez (formerly of Slider) who is proving
a very valuable asset to the band. This is the Sex Pistols meet PIL with
some Foo Fighters twisted in for the chase. DIY Punk at it’s best.
To make way for the Supreme headliners we see Bobafett the cities favourite
cover band thrown in for a treat. Covering all the latest up-to date
alternative music these guys always pull off a good show.
And lastly but not least we see the amazing Thirst hit Peterborough once
again to shoot us down with their beautiful sounds. 'Schizophrenic,
post-grunge, celebral rock’ Thirst who have played support to Bush, Muse,
Llama Farmers and Therapy are back in town after blowing Tailgunner off the
CWNN stage in October last year with the release of their debut album ‘From
Mouth to Skin’.
As a warm up before their US tour Thirst will bring us 45 minutes of
heartfelt melodies that have that original spark sending the most euphoric
vibes pulsing through your veins.
Live music (bands) will finish at around 12 to make way for 2 hours of mosh
attacking with the help of the cities best alternative DJ’s, Danny Spence
(Gimp Editor and Bassist for Nikita), Phil Rigarlsford (GIMP Assistant
Editor and Nikita Singer/Guitarist), Alex Elmer (Rince Drummer) and Brendan
Mart (Kingcow's Roadie and local promoter).
Doors open at 8.00pm - 2am. Admission is £4.00 on the door or £3.50 with a
GIMP flyer. 16’s are welcome although ID may be required.

The Photon Torpedoes (New England area)
|
HOGS AND CUTIES has been recorded by the Photon Torpedoes for a METEORS - Tribute CD at 7aWest Studios in Charlestown, MA. More details will follow as to when that will be released. Rumor has it that it will be a triple CD with many of the psychobilly greats paying homage to the greatest psychobilly band to ever live.
Photon Torpedoes will also be going back into the studio (7aWest) to record their second full length CD with Mark, the Kannibal Klaver! Many great new tunes are to be released like Get in the Bag F***er inspired by a wonderful night with our great friend Chris, get in the bag f***er, D.
Also, Midget Porn Boogie, inspired by another wonderful night of traumatizing videos brought over by a friend one night. C.H.U.D. possibly to be used on a soundtrack to a sequel of the movie being shopped around for release by the original writer of the first movie. I F*** on the First Date, inspired by a shirt on a big fat, hairy biker up in Laconia during Motorcycle Week. Also, a vocal debut by the Kannibal himself- The Boogey Man! And more little interesting tunes that always rock your socks off!
Flesh Eating Bacteria has been getting some international airplay now, in Germany, Spain and Australia, the land down under, where women go and men plunder. And, believe it or not, Stop and Hold that UFO has been on the top 40 on ISON Radio in Australia. Do you believe they are top 40 material?!?!?!?!? Alright, Australia!!!! They have been on the charts for five weeks and were #1 for three of those weeks. Now, they are at #3! AMAZING!!!!
