If you tried to reach the Raucous Records Message Board over the last couple of days, you were probably unsuccessful as the hosting company were in the process of updating and it all went a bit odd! It's all settled now and you can find it at: http://www.raucousshop.com. The shop is still in the process of having items added but there's still a searchable database of 500 rockabilly and psychobilly CDs and stuff! If you want the message board then click the top right 'MESSAGE BOARD' link and add your comments. Contacts for new bands, up coming dates, new release info or just opinions are all welcome.
Very Exciting News (from Debs Warren ex Grandma's Bike)!!
On Sunday 20th May 2001 in the evening, I will be
performing with my band at THE NEW WOLSEY THEATRE,
Civic Drive, Ipswich. We will be playing a set
comprising my original songs, some of which are on my
debut album, due to be released around Easter time.
On stage prior to my appearance will be the lovely
BECKY OSLER with Adam Clarkson and others performing
her excellent songs.
Tickets available at the Box Office from £3.
This is all part of a festival THE NEW WOLSEY THEATRE
is putting together which will hopefully become a
yearly event supporting live music and new and
emerging talent including theatre acts. It is a great
opportunity for artists in Suffolk.
Well, If you missed the gigs at Duffy's Wine Bar in Ealing and Remo's Roadhouse in Rickmansworth you missed some good music at really great new venues. We're booked to go back to both in the near future.
Don't just watch this space - Get on Down There!
We had a great gig at The Surbiton Flyer for the Band in its new line up. Unfortunately, this venue is closing for a refurb. and the future of music is, at the moment, uncertain.
Great News! The Band has been booked to play at The Farnham Maltings Blues Festival in November. More news of this nearer the time, at least we will have time to consolidate after Bob Stout's departure to join the Odyssey Blues Band. We would all like to thank Bob for the enjoyment he gave us when he played with the Band and to take this opportunity to wish him all the very best for the future.
New venues for April include The Feathers Inn, Wadesmill; the Pear & Partridge, London Colney; The Coach & Horses, Croxley Green and The White Lion, Barnet which is now run by Graeme MacDonald who previously ran the Ferret & Firkin in Chelsea and was responsible for organising the Chelsea Blues Festival. The White Lion seems destined to become a major new Blues venue, so give it your support!
