The Dawn Parade (Press Release)

Passionate widescreen rock’n’roll band The Dawn Parade release their dubut single “Good Luck Olivia” on NYC/Pinnacle Records on Monday November 5th. Singer Greg McDonald said: “Good Luck Olivia is about a thirst for magic, however cheap and tarnished that little ideal may be… our generation is so keen to deride and sneer at everything, that’s not a simple thing even to admit to, let alone to do… We hope The Dawn Parade can fly in the face of derision and sneering, amd be an invitation to adventure, colour and magic…”

The Dawn Parade have been making waves in London this summer, recently attracting the attention of Polydor Records. Fans can see the band's last London show, before a packed 200 strong crowd at the Bull and Gate, as a webcase on the Bull and Gate website: www.bullandgate.co.uk

The Dawn Parade are touring the UK during late October and early November to promote the release of "Good Luck Olivia", with the "Half Past Dawn Tour" culminating in a show at the Boat Race, Cambridge, the group’s adopted home, on Friday 16th November. Singer Greg McDonald said: "We can't be grateful enough for all the support we've had in Cambridge in the last six months, especially from Richard Rose at Repeat Fanzine, and the hardcore fans who've become good friends along the way... we really can't thank them enough, even if they are occassionally sick on band members' trousers after the gigs..."

The Dawn Parade’s final gig before the start of The Half Past Dawn Tour will take place on October 9th at pestello's, Bury St Edmunds, where one recent Dawn Parade show resulted in a stage invasion the local press called “A virtual full scale riot”.

Gwyn Ashton: 28th-30th Sept 2001

Just found out about a fan club for us based in Dunkerke, France. Thanx to everyone there for the support. We're gonna be playing there next Friday 28 and it sold out 2 weeks ago! Bewdy. Should be a rip-snorter of a night and we're gonna boogie our hearts out.

Sat. 29 we're back in England playing as special guests to the legendary Wishbone Ash at the Wilbarston Hall in, wait for it........Wilbarston. (Somewhere in Northamptonshire). Get there early 'cos it may be hard to get in.

Sun. 30 and we've got our CD launch for "Beg, Borrow and Steel". It's an acoustic CD recorded in Australia a few years ago, but it's coming out in "old blighty" next week and we're taking advatage of the situation and gonna have a party at the Torrington in Nth Finchley, London with some choice special guests including Lou Martin on piano who used to play with the late Rory Gallagher. Kind of an "unplugged" vibe, but we're not allowed to use that word 'cos apparantly MTV created it!

CD's'nstuff available at all of the above gigs.
All in all it looks like a good week ahead and you're all invited! You don't wanna miss out on history in the making, eh? May even have time for tea and scones at the Palace.

Come on down, put your boogie shoes on and party with the boys.
