The Dawn Parade

On Saturday 19th January, The Dawn Parade headline The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town, London, with support from Librium, Stoned Death Games and Blue Gandhi.

The gig follows the success of debut single “Good Luck Olivia”, which broke into the Top 25 in various national UK Indie Singles Charts, following enthusiastic Radio One play from John Peel and Steve Lamacq. The band were thrilled at the success of the single, and suggest they are “hugely grateful to the absurdly devoted who’ve followed us around during our debut year… we can’t wait for the next single this spring”.

The band have recently enjoyed attention from Polydor Records, and glowing reviews in magazines such as ProbeMusic, which described the Dawn Parade as “the most exciting, passionate pop band so far this century”. In recent weeks, Dawn Parade singer Greg McDonald supported Royal Albert Hall headliners Show of Hands on their UK Tour.

On February 5th, Greg McDonald plays an intimate acoustic show at London’s Barfly Acoustic, with Strangelove singer Patrick Duff, while the band will return to The Barfly later that month. In the last week of February, the Dawn Parade play a mini tour of the south coast with Miss Black America. Assuming they survive, the Dawn Parade will tour the UK in July.

Leeds Musicians Network

We at Anonymous Groove have been researching the best way to set up an arts network in Leeds for the past 6 months. This is an update on some important new information that may help make this possible across the whole of the UK

Generator, an arts council funded organisation based in Newcastle, have been working on this very same idea for a number of years, and have now teamed up with the MU, the princes Trust and a number of other arts organisation to build an impressive networking and information database for the whole of the UK.

http://www.metamusic.org.uk is a site dedicated to helping provide better links between the many existing networks of music organisations across the UK. I feel they need our help to build the Yorkshire side of this information resource.

At present, information on the Yorkshire region is very thin so I am writing to encourage everyone to check out what could be THE information resource of the future, and supply them with as much information as we can get together.
