'The Biz' - new arts showcase for ITV
|
Imago Productions are currently in pre-production of a 31 episode series that will be shown on Anglia / ITV from May to December. ‘The Biz’ aims to provide a weekly showcase of the regions arts.
We are planning to film several episodes of this new arts programme in Ipswich between April and October. I am currently trying to find items to film that reflect Ipswich and the surrounding area’s diverse art scene. It can be anything from a barbershop quartet to a hip hop crew, theatre to lookalikes, cabaret acts to sculpture, hospital radio to morris dancing, samba to poetry. If you are involved in something interesting, however unusual, please email thebiz@imagoproductions.tv or write to The Biz, Imago Productions, Grosvenor House, Norwich, NR1 1NS

Leeds Live Festival Needs Acts
|
Illustrious PR Ltd. and Anonymous Groove are proud to announce an ambitious
and exciting four day festival of live entertainment, to be staged in Leeds
City Centre.
We are currently looking for acts to play at venues all over the city
centre. We are looking at hosting in the region of 200 bands over four
days, with acts travelling from Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, London,
Birmingham etc., but with a large emphasis on Leeds based acts of every
style.
We are currently confirming press and sponsors for the event but need an
idea of the acts we are going to use, and information on them ASAP so we can
add these details to the festival programme, in which around 10,000 copies
will be distributed around Leeds. This booklet will be produced in late
April so we really do need to move fast.
If you are interested in getting involved in any way, either playing,
helping, or hosting your own events, email chris@anonymous-groove.com, or
send your demo direct to
Anonymous Groove, PO Box 2, Armley, Leeds, LS12 3WX
This year will mark the start of an annual live music event and conference
of national and international profile and appeal. This years festival will
begin on June 1st and end on the 4th, running throughout the biggest Bank
Holiday Celebration of the year - the extended weekend marking the Queen's
Golden Jubilee. The event promises to attract around 200 acts and will give
the public a great opportunity to view the rich variety of talent on their
doorstep. We will be hosting an act on the hour, every hour in 15 venues
across the centre of Leeds, offering a fantastic chance to attract large
audiences for the acts, venues and sponsors during this bumper weekend for
business. We plan to make it one to remember.
The festival will also see the launch of the Leeds Musicians Network. This
is a whole new way for bands, venues, fans and individual musicians and
artists to get access to the best the North has to offer in the creative
arts. Hosted online, the network will help bring bright sparks in
entertainment together. An easy to use database, it will list all the
contacts you'll need to create a noise in the North. LMN promises to be an
invaluable reference for promoters and a fantastic resource for all creative
people trying to get their work seen and heard.
In support of this goal, the event will also play host to a number of
industry seminars and surgeries by high profile guest speakers, offering
musicians and artists a chance to get practical advice and professional
insights on the entertainment industry.
These plans are built upon the success of last year's event, organised by
Chris Shipton of Anonymous Groove, which created a unique festival style
atmosphere in the city centre of Leeds. This years event in June will
attract even more support and attention to make it one of the best and
brightest Leeds has seen in recent years.
The festival offers the chance for acts and promoters to gain exposure
whilst raising the profile of the Arts in Leeds. Alongside a comprehensive
poster and flyer campaign, a booklet will be produced for the event,
explaining the aims of the festival and including features on venues, acts
and organisations with adverts from a number of sponsors and key figures
involved. Publicity looks promising already: Leeds Guide, Yorkshire Evening
Post, Galaxy 105, Aire FM and Ananova have all expressed an interest in
supporting and covering the event.
Driving this effort we have proven achiever's working hard to make things
happen. Richard Watson, Managing Director of Illustrious PR, was responsible
for setting up the Leeds Food and Drink Festival, which has now grown into
an international event raising mass sponsorship and media coverage,
including TV. We have also contracted Zzonked, who deal with The Big Chill
and other national events, and Pomona, who specialise in regional PR for
music events to capture and stimulate media attention on our event. All of
this ensures the festival will have a high profile and benefit everyone
involved.
