The Animal House
@ The Atrium
Wednesday 15th May
9pm - 2am
Anonymous Groove and Get In Promotions present the Animal House, a night of
three floors of entertainment held in the stylish surroundings of the
Atrium, 6-9 Grand Arcade, Leeds.
The Animal House aims to bring together a number of established and new club
nights from around Leeds and host them all under one roof, creating a great
party style atmosphere of both varied and eclectic entertainment.
The Basement plays host to Risqué, which is held at Bar Phono on the last
Thursday of every month, bringing you the best in disco beats and funky
french house. In the bar room we have funk and hip hop vibes from the
Mystery Tramps and Broody residents. The Loft Lounge sees host to its
weekly Thursday Night resident, The Rhythm Suite, bringing you a special
live performance from the highly acclaimed theatrical musicians of the
Formidable Charlton, with full visual accompaniment, and a full selection of
funk and reggae tunes.
The Animal house also has added visual stimulation from the Monkee from
Unkle, providing video and slide projections to add that extra element to
the event.

Gravenhurst "Internal Travels" Album Launch Party.
With support from 'War Against Sleep'.
Thursday May 16th
Louisiana, Wapping Road, Bristol
8PM / £4
Gravenhurst: Neo-folk guitar-shadowplay revolving around singer/songwriter Nick Talbot, celebrating the release of debut LP 'Internal Travels' on Mobstar/Red Square records. Now performing as a three piece, featuring David Collingwood from The Signal/Immense on drums, this acclaimed Bristol act evoke an intense, atmospheric sound somewhere between Nick Drake, Red House Painters and Low. "Gravenhurst is simply wow...stunning stuff" - Venue Magazine. (http:// www.silentagerecords.co.uk/gravenframe.htm)
War Against Sleep: Duncan Fleming, former frontman of the much lamented Inseminators, delivers beautifully crafted solo piano paeans with the darkest of dark humour continuing the tradition of Kurt Weill, Scott Walker and Serge Gainsbourg. (http://www.waragainstsleep.co.uk)
Thank you so much to everybody who came along to see us at Cheesy Beans at Bad Bob's on Monday night. To say the gig was a success would be an understatement. All sorts of music industry types were there and some interesting conversations were had. We liked the free beer for the band too.
Point is, lots of important people have become interested in little old us, and it has become apparent that we need to put on a showcase gig for them as soon as possible. To this end, we will be appearing at a special promotional gig at West One Four on Saturday, May 11th.
This will be to promote our wares to our music-biz friends, and show them what a stunning crowd we can pull. Flyers are attached for you as usual, and to say we really need you there for this one would be understatement number two.
West One Four (formerly The Orange) is a great venue - Leo's favourite in fact. Very comfortable, lots of tables to sit at, a PA system that is treated like a hi-fi, rather than a device for scrambling your internal organs, plus a lovely long bar. Print as many flyers as you need, and please - tell all your friends.
This gig is being professionally filmed, so wear your best frock! All the info you need is on the flyers. If you have trouble opening them, get back to us and we'll put some real paper ones in the post for you.
All info, plus a review of the Bad Bob's gig is at http://www.jumpforjoy.ws
