THE BAND FAMILY TREE

BandFamilyTree.com is a new website which has been started by three guys from the Wirral, Rob Cowley, Hedley Vick and Dave MacLeod.

The website enables all musicians of every level throughout the world to be able to record their playing history, experiences and details for everyone to see. Here as a current or ex-band member they can add their own details to the family tree of bands and band artists, rock, country, jazz, classical etc which exists throughout the world.

There is also the opportunity for them to get in touch with fellow musicians that they may have lost touch with or would just like to contact and for others to view their musical CV and see what they are now doing. If any bands have their own website then by adding the band details they are also able to place a link to that website, all for FREE.

The website has already been the BBC Radio 2 website of the day on the Steve Wright show and Radio Merseyside have done a live interview with Rob regarding the website showing the high level of interest that has been shown in this idea.

Rob says "the initial response to the website has been tremendous and there will in the future be many additions for the benefit of everyone who has an interest in music"

GODS KITCHEN

Hello Music Lovers,

Hot news that the mighty gods kitchen, variously described as "The brightest new band....of 1994" and "a sort of middle-aged Dawn Parade" have been awarded the prestigious saturday night slot at The Milestone Beerhouse, Ippo on saturday August 31st. The gig follows hot on the heels of the band's barnstorming performance at Ipswich Music Day, er, 2001. Any past, present or future members, or just any quick learners who would like to 'do a number' on the night (as I believe the hip young things call it) are only too welcome to drop me a line and we'll sort something out for the night. The gk mantra continues to be "turn up, tune down, rock out" and we'll be keeping an eye out for all those who have mistaken it for that rave night thingy with the same name; and remember - there ain't no party like a gk party!

MOUSE HEADLINE AT ACOUSTICITY

Mouse headline at the next AcoustiCity gig at the Headgate Theatre, Colchester. It could be the most remarkable music performance you will see & hear this year.

Martha Tilston’s beautiful, expressive & delicate vocals will appeal to fans of Sandy Denny, All About Eve or Kate Bush. Her voice is underpinned by just enough sparkling, understated guitar work from Nick Marshall.

Time Out said: "..definitely born for the stage (and) oozing star quality in a natural unpretentious way"

If you’ve been to AcoustiCity before, you’ll know about the intimate environment, crystal clear sound & bewitching lighting.

Supporting, the Mosley brothers (known as Moses) present the finely crafted songwriting & harmony vocals heard on their new single “No One’s Home” – a slice of classic acoustic pop which you’ll instantly want to hear again. Our opening act is sublime Cambridge songstress Christena Maloney.
