AETHELLIS ALBUM RELEASED

Affinity Music Library is proud to announce the release of the new progressive rock album, Aethellis.
Aethellis updates the classic progressive rock approach with punchy, contemporary rhythms and funky guitar. But the signature elements remain: virtuosity, silky synthesizers, passionate vocals, progressive song structures and electronic effects. The combination is a refreshing addition to the collection of progressive bands that have stretched the boundaries of rock.

Aethellis is the brainchild of keyboardist/vocalist/guitarist Ellsworth Hall. Ellsworth is veteran of several bands, most noteably Logos Affinity since the early 1980s. He also creates music and sound effects for multimedia, film and video projects and brings the drama of his soundtrack work to the music of Aethellis.

"Ellsworth Hall is an amazing multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. As a vocalist, he can be compared to the likes of Greg Lake and John Wetton. is music firmly lies somewhere between classic progressive rock and art rock camps. Although most of the compositions have a pop vibe to them, Ellsworth utilizes the longer song format to stay clear of being labeled mainstream." - Ron Fuchs, ProgNaut

"Aethellis developed a musical style where all the range in the compositions are around melancholy sounds of the keyboards; and all vocals are at times, very clean and very soft, other times, highly spiritual, elevating both kind of rock styles to a high level." - Carlos Alberto Vaz Ferreira, Progressive Rock Progessive Metal

"I have truly enjoyed listening to this album and will put it again in my player." - Marc Roy, ProGGnosis

The album is now on sale as a CD at CD Baby.com and Tower Records Online. The album will also be available shortly via digital distribution through CD Baby's partner online companies.

The official Aethellis website is at www.aethellis.com and includes sound samples in mp3 and RealAudio, a band bio, an interview, contact info and more

SELF TITLED At iTUNES

Apple Computer's phenomenal iTunes Music Store has added Northern Virginia teen band Self-Titled's album "Metro" to its roster of downloadable music for purchase. Initially started with hundreds of thousands of songs from the five major record labels, Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs has always promised that independent musicians would have a place in iTunes' roster.

As iTunes Music Store has passed the 30 million milestone of legally purchased songs online by Macintosh and Windows users, musical artists not signed up with the majors are finding themselves with equal footing in the promising new territory of legal internet distribution.

Self-Titled, a rock band from Woodbridge, Virginia, lacking a national reputation, has apparently scored a distribution coup by getting their submitted album "Metro"included with nothing going for them except talent and energy.

"Metro," self-published on Recurve Records, the band's own label, has up until now been sold almost entirely at Self-Titled concerts in the Washington area at small clubs, schools, billiard parlors, skate rinks, and anywhere else they can get in front of an audience. Some albums have also been sold via mail-order through cdbaby.com, an up-and-coming internet-based distributor. This is the first time the band‚s songs will be available to a potential audience of many millions of music buyers.

Derek Evry, age 17, is the lead singer and guitarist of the band. He has performed professionally since singing with the Children's Chorus at the Washington Opera Company at the age of eleven, and when the rest of the band is not available, is frequently seen singing and playing at Zigs Restaurant in Alexandria during Tuesday night open mics. He formed Self-Titled with bassist Will Huberdeau five years ago, and while some friends and schoolmates came and went, the group has settled with Derek, Will, and guitarist Ryan Gibbons and drummer Jason Rodriguez. Self-Titled offers hours worth of original compositions at concerts, all on a remarkably professional level.

"Metro" features eleven original tracks, created over a two year period at Neptune Studios in Occoquan, Virginia, under the auspices of recording engineer J. P. Maheu.

Short downloadable samples can be found at the iTunes Music Store (search for Self-Titled or Metro), or at the band's web site, http://www.self-titled.com.

JOHN BERGERON SCHEDULED TO RELEASE LEONARD COHEN TRIBUTE

John Bergeron is scheduled to present his critically acclaimed Leonard Cohen tribute CD "In the House of Mystery" at the 'New York 2004 Leonard Cohen Event' held on June 11-13, 2004. Bergeron is slated to perform Friday evening (June 11, ’04) among many fellow Leonard Cohen fans and friends to honor the singer's life, poetry, music, art and writings.

Bergeron's vision of Leonard Cohen and his music - a full length CD called "In the House of Mystery" - contains 11 cover versions of Cohen's best songs to date : 'Bird on a Wire', 'Suzanne' and ‘Famous Blue Raincoat' among others. "Recording 'In the House of Mystery' was all about seeing these images of Leonard Cohen’s story inside his lyrics and hearing back the result of how it makes me feel. My performance of Cohen’s music seems to come so naturally to me that it is mysteriously effortless. I know I really enjoy where it takes me," comments Bergeron.

John Bergeron is thrilled to be a part of the New York 2004 Leonard Cohen Event in June: "I am hoping that this performance gives another view to what I consider some of the most brilliant songs of the 20th Century." He adds: "Listening to a CD of all Leonard Cohen songs sets a special mood for all Leonard Cohen fans. What is special about this effort is that I tried to capture the spirit of his original performances."

This CD is for true music fans who are in search of a genuine music artist who will give them spiritual hope in all aspects of their daily lives. And, John Bergeron takes Leonard Cohen's songs to a whole new level. But first, he takes Manhattan on June 11-13, 2004. Then he takes...

IVANHOE AND FRIENDS RELEASE CARIBBEAN STYLE JAZZ CD

Ivanhoe & Friends release "Yo! Happy Birthday to You! In Caribbean Jazz Style" on January 13.

"My father inspired my brother & I, at an early age. Whether he play his flute or Harmonica around the house or just jamming with friends!" proud Ivan M. Irving, the mastermind behind the project comments.

"My vision is to perform gospel music throughout the world. I would love to enhance the lives of others through the ministry of music and hopefully free all those who are in bondage," Ivan adds. "When “JAH”created me, I was created to worship & adore him, through the gift of music."

Ivanhoe & Friends has an extensive history of performing live.
They have opened up for Shirley Caesar, Marvin Sapp, Dorothy Norwood, Doreen Vail, Angela Smith, Unity Choir, and W.O.P Choir among many others.

"The most inspiring moment in my musical career was when Ivanhoe was in the studio and cancer taking it’s toll over his body he still had the desire to record & complete the “Yo! Happy Birthday To You!”In Caribbean Jazz Style Project. A couple of times the engineer wanted to throw in the towel, and pull him out of the sound booth, but, I told him no to let him finish, he’s a musician, he’ll be alright! The next day after the session Ivanhoe, was so excited that he went door to door with his walking cane selling his cd. The mind is willing but the body is weak!" says Ivan M. Irving.

"Yo! Happy Birthday to You! In Caribbean Jazz Style" is available from January 13 through Cdbaby.com/ivanhoe2

SEXY, CONTEMPORARY, GROOVE ORIENTED MUSIC FROM PETER DEMBSKI

Peter Dembski's latest recording, "Double Life", showcases his piano skills and writing with a group of outstanding musicians including Miles Davis' alumni Tom Barney (also on the Grammy award winning Steely Dan CD "Two Against Nature") and Mino Cinelu (also from Sting's band and Marcus Miller's CD "M2").
Also on board are Aaron Heick, saxophonist with Chaka Khan's band, and Terry Silverlight, drummer from Roberta Flack's group.

Providing the listener with ultimate mood music, "Double Life" features a contemporary version of the Mingus classic, "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat", Wayne Shorter's "Beauty and The Beast" and Marcus Miller's "Mr. Pastorius".

The music ranges from an acoustic jazz trio to a contemporary electric R & B groove featuring Peter on acoustic piano.

"Not a player that overplays--this gentleman plays with tasteful discretion. You can tell he has more in his arsenal but chooses to say what he has to say very succinctly. Deserves a national contract." David B. Vliet

Peter first sat at down at a piano at three years of age and as a teen he began to write music and develop the improvisational skills which had always been part of his approach to music. He also spent a good deal of time in Europe; living in Paris, Rome, Edinborough, and Perugia before he reached his twenties. Peter later moved to New York where he worked in the theater and dance world as a pianist, arranger, and composer.
He has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe, and also maintains an active teaching career where his specialty is teaching improvisational technique to non-improvising (classical) musicians. He divides his time between his home on the Maine coast and his New York apartment.
