By Muttley, August 1999

The evening was yet to begin, the venue was heaving and I was left to decide between the overheated bundle of people inside or joining the mosquitoes outside. Moonjuice were only the support band, but they know how to get an audience going.

It was one of those nights when you had to squeeze yourself to the front of the crowd to see the band (well, if you're as short as I am). At first I was a bit wary of what this band was. There was a DJ, my first reaction was to run away and hide, but when they started to play I learnt that this was a really talented bunch, that obviously work very closely together.

It's a little difficult describing their music, it's a very strange fusion of very different styles. I suppose if you try to imagine this... hip-hop combined with rock and a little dash of funk thrown in. Quite a unique bunch this lot and doing very well for themselves.

The setup for Moonjuice is Jimmy who's the DJ; Simon on the bass; Paul on vocals; Rickard on the guitar and a little of the backing vocals and the drummer, Rob. This lot said that they want to play at one of the KlubKat nights in the near future, so keep an eye out on the back page for them.

News? Well, at the moment they are going through a publishing deal with Live Atom and are going to be touring in January. So go and check them out. Trust me if you do see them, you won't be disappointed with what they have to deliver.
