Reach the Rock, Original Soundtrack.
LP/CD Hefty Records

As fine a slice of eclectic post rock as I've tasted in a while. Excellent guest spots are provided by the renowned Chicago post rockers Tortoise and also The Sea and the Cake with the hazy, whimsical voice of their vocalist Sam Prekop, who released his first solo LP recently.

The songs effortlessly glide through dub textures and psychedelic guitar swirls to electronic rhythms and just plain gorgeous songs - surprisingly, mostly instrumental and equally effective in the fore or background. I wonder if the film could ever live up to this essential soundtrack, which presents a convincing case for rock music's evolved offspring.
