This band the 'Swingekickers' are reminiscent of the Beatles with their catchy simple melodies.
The band is made up of Jonny - lead vocals, James - backing vocals / lead guitar, Nick - guitar/keyboard, Jon - bass, and Dom - drums. They have only been together for just one and a half years but have already had air time on Radio One's John Peel Show.
As always, a band's ambition is to be 'massive' but they do have their feet on the ground and would settle for less. "To be able to look back and say 'Swingekickers' and people would know what we were and what that means, would do for us."
The brothers, Jonny and James, work together to create the structure of the songs. Jonny writes the melodies and James works on the chords. They then present this to the rest of the lads, who all have their say and fiddle around. The results are some well-balanced tunes that are easy to get into.
'Never Ends' is Jonny's personal favourite. Purely for the lyrics, he feels it is the best he has written so far. The song has meaning and depth, which you can look into.
They recorded their first C.D. last year and found it an interesting experience. They have moved on since then and would do some things differently. Perhaps work on different tracks and present songs in a different way.
So we can look forward to their next C.D., meanwhile you can listen to their track 'Never Ends' on this site. Happy listening!
