By Muttley, July 1999

Head Up are now signed with their first album out on 17th July and a party not to be missed

The line up for Headup includes Benny (bass); Oli (drums); Kolin (guitar); Kieran (guitar and trumpet) and Richard (vocals). Everyone has heard about this new young band in Norfolk, so what's all the stir for? Well, this is what I went to find out.

Headup have recently been signed to Rukumba records and are releasing their first album 'Something Positive' on the 17th with old and new songs. Haven't heard them yet? Well, now's ya chance as Head Up are inviting everyone to their party on the 17th July at the Green Jack Brewery.

Muttley: What does this record deal mean to you?
Richard: It feels good having a product to sell to people

Muttley: What's been Headups most successful moment so far?
Richard: Hearing that the recording of our music sounds good.

Muttley: What influences your music?
Richard: Life influences our music, I can't really pin point bands.

Muttley: Why set up a band?
Kolin: We enjoy the buzz
Richard: It's because we like to entertain

Muttley: Can you describe the style of music that you play?
Kolin: Groovy
Richard: Heavy groove
Kieran: Funky
Benny: Sophisticatedly twisted

Muttley: So do you have day jobs?
Richard: I worked in a mortuary once
Kolin: I'm in railway maintenance
Richard: I'm in railway maintenance too now
Kieran: Me?! I work in a café
Oli: I work for my dad but don't put that in, I'm a delivery driver so put that in instead.
Benny: I have a degree in illustration and I am currently exhibiting work in London

Muttley: What's next?
Richard: To make a living from playing music

Muttley: Ending on a humorous note, if there was anything you could change about yourself what would it be?
Richard: I'd lose my memory
Kolin: I'd change my arse hole because I shit so much...
Kieran: My guitar
Oli: I'd like my drum kit to become mobile so I could jump around the stage
Benny: The size of my penis

Good luck Headup, I hope that we hear lots of cool tunes in the near future. See ya on Saturday 17th July!
