Jynx are a very recently formed band consisting of, Gary - rhythm guitar, Rob - vocals/acoustic guitar, Chris - lead guitar, Ivan - bass guitar and Colin - drums. The material that they presently use comes from a fairly wide spectrum, namely 60's through to the 90's, utilising the talents of artists such as The Who, The Beatles, Radiohead and Supergrass, to name but a few.
In fact, they only formed as recently as August 1998. They began to practise twice a week and by the time the new year had rolled in, they had enough material to play their first gig in January, at the 'Bandbox' in Felixstowe. Their next gig, at the 'Drum and Monkey' in Ipswich, was so impressive that the landlord promptly booked them for a further four dates.
The band have also been working on their own material but haven't yet had the opportunity to record the tracks, although they most certainly have been playing them at their gigs. I hope you punters out there have been paying attention! If you want to sample their talent then you won't have long to wait, they will be playing at the Ipswich Music Day on the 4th of July.
