Tonight's Club With No Name (19th April) saw the return of Serafin the feisty four piece from London. Supporting them on this fine evening was every teenage girl's young dream, Chekira.
Stamford based Chekira were the first to get jiggy with it tonight, exploding into action with some top new tunes. 'Pop Punk Bands', 'Poppins' and 'Cecil's Last Day' all had that raw unique Chekira authenticness proving the bands taste for originality.
We heard some more Chekira favourites "Sunday Saturday Song" ("No 1 Best Sell Outs" Demo), Bye Bye Valentine ("Novelty's Worn Off" demo) and a more sophisticated revolutionised version of "Pop Music" which has kept its catchy upbeat refrain and added some tricky stops mixed into a more fiery guitar spiel.
Through vigorous guitar solos, fiddly bass lines and a total energy driven performance that was as tight as Sardines, Chekira finished with a good cover of Abba's Super Trooper that had the mosh pit just begging for more.
These lads have gone from strength to strength since day one keeping a consistent balance within their songs which now mixed into a triple melodical approach has created a more soothing yet adrenalin raging atmosphere of this strange Pop Punk Rock Indie -esque phenomenon.

As the mosh pit faded with lots of sweaty adrenalin bitten teenagers walking away from the dance floor Serafin prepared for their second invasion at the Club With No Name.
Serafin who are lead by Ben Smith ex Stony Sleep frontman were good the first time round and haven't changed much since. They pulled off another well received performance through evocative energy compelling songs that still reminded me at times, of fragments of 'At The Drive In' but on a more spongy level of Pavement.
This indie/rock post grunge blend was full of life expired through nitro guitars, rolling bass lines and some real influential but radiant vocals which still have a slight tint of Placebo's Brian Molko. This is another great band as yet to be signed, BUT it's only a matter of time.
