Spot is a four piece rock band who made 3rd place in finals of the band competition, recently run by Fat Music at the Brickmakers, Norwich. Spot is made up of Bub on vocals and guitar; Mike on the drums; Phipps on bass and Gav the most recent member on guitar and backing vocals.

The band is a young band all in their twenties and have been known in the form that they are in now for just a year. They have a 20 track CD out now, that they sell at their gigs. (Be quick, they go fast!). To give you an idea of what the band is like, their influences include: The Wildhearts and Thor.

However, Spot is not a full-time band they all have day jobs. Bub on the left is a student; in the middle is Phipps who works in a pudding factory; Mike on the right wrestles and Gav (Hiding behind them all, honest...) is an electrical sales person.

The band like most have had their successful moments, their most successful being when they supported Feeder. However, they have also had their disasters, which are always comical afterwards. Spots disaster dates back to the time of one of their gigs at The Oval Rock House, when on this occasion Mike the drummer had the pleasure of meeting Charley the guitarist of Pure Passion, the all female Rock band, who gradually got more and more pissed off with each other until it ended up that Charley was so ph*ked off that she whacked him over the head with her guitar leaving Mike on the floor. (I don't think they've spoken since).

I have to say that I have seen this band play at Fat Pauly's and they are a great lot full of enthusiasm and cool tunes so go and see them.
