We first saw this band at the Thurrock Music Festival back in August and it was there that they grabbed our attention.

At the festival, there were six stages and a lot of bands, so we only had a limited amount of time with each. To sum up, our encounter with Job Done was short and sweet. However, from that short time, we knew we would like to follow them up. So when we were invited to see them playing in Southend we didn't hesitate in accepting.

On the day of the gig we had many obstacles thrown in our path. Firstly my partner in crime was unwell and couldn't travel, and without my map-reader I became really rather lost trying to get to the hotel which was locked up when I arrived. There was a lot more besides, but I don't want to risk boring you!

Back to business, we knew the band were good but I was just about to find out what a gem they were. The band play all their own stuff and seem to have an endless supply of material. Each song was as good as the last with great guitar sequences and melody - a professional act.

The nights music was varied - mainly rock/pop, with influences of Buddy Holly and Dire Straits. Some songs had a reggae feel and some had a folk quality. There was something for everyone and nothing to offend.

It's rare to find such talent by the bucket load! I felt Job Done's material to be inexhaustible and that there was no such thing as a bum song.

Phil the lead vocalist / guitarist is a very talented songwriter and has surrounded himself with equally talented musicians, who together produce the marvellous band Job Done.

I'm sure the punters at the Club Riga would agree, they are a band to see and I would highly recommend you catch them, we at KlubKat will keep you posted of future gig dates.
