Sloe Gin, never heard of them? Well, they're based in Suffolk and it is all the doing of a chap named James E. Snelling. A 26 year old multi-talented musician, known for playing the guitar, drums, bass and keyboards in numerous East Anglian bands, now he has come up with some really cool sounds which shout out "EIGHTIES".
In ten years he has worked hard and gathered his first collection of songs on the album, "Never Completed, Only Abandoned". He said that he took the name from a quote by Star Wars creator George Lucas, who apparently said, "great film-makers never complete films, only abandon them". James explained these words: George is saying that film-makers never feel truly satisfied, so they abandon their films. James feels similarly about his music.
So, this talented person has the ablity to record his work all by himself in the studio, but he can't play all of the instruments on stage. How does he do it? Well this is where the bunch on the left comes into it. Well, excluding James E. Snelling, who takes pride of place at the front of the picture.
The band will be playing in and around Norwich during the coming months, notably at Norwich Arts Centre and Fat Pauly's, before heading for London around late autumn. So, keep an eye out and they'll be in your area shortly!
